Orlando fans of the late Jim Morrison were happy to see that 'The Doors' legacy lives on through guitarist Robby Krieger and his band. Krieger's son Waylon Krieger did his best to fill the shoes of an iconic frontman, the late Jim Morrison. "I was a guitartist until recently" Waylon said to the crowd which shouted cheers of approval. Krieger proved he still has 'mad skills' on the guitar as he and his band played some of biggest hits of 'The Doors' infamous song catalogue.

The 2 hour setlist included such hits as Moonlight Drive,Wild Child, Break on Through, Texas Radio, When the Music's over, Changeling, Peace Frog, Touch Me, Waiting for the Sun, Five to One, and LA Woman. One interesting moment came when Krieger flowed from 'Riders' (on the storm) into a riff of 'Rawhide'.

Krieger also gave a nod to the career of his bassist Phil Chen with a song he recorded with Jeff Beck on the 'Blow by Blow' album called 'Free Way'. The bands encore was of course the ultimate Doors fan favorite 'Light my fire' in which Krieger seamlessly wove riffs of 'The Beatles' song 'Elenor Rigby' and 'Favorite Things' from 'The Sound of Music'. By all accounts the Velvet Sessions concert was a huge success. He and his band are currently touring cross country. It's great to see Robby is still going strong, and carrying 'The Doors' legacy after all these years.
