Fans filled the MidFlorida Credt Union Ampitheatre for last nights concert starring legendary rock band Van Halen. The opening 'warm-up' act Kenny Wayne Shephard heated up the audience with an amazing set. His incredible musicianship brought back memories of the great Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jimmy Hendrix. http://www.van-halen.com/ The crowd went crazy when David Lee Roth, Eddie Van Halen, Alex Van Halen, Wolfgang Van Halen hit the stage! They opened the show with 'Light up the sky' (their second album). As the evening progressed they played hit after hit including 'Runnin with the Devil', 'Hot for Teacher', and 'Dance the Night Away'.

Diamond Dave was in rare form charming the audience with his witty bantor. After taking a tiny tumble he said attributed it to "Budweiser". Later he jokingly said to one lady in the audience "You look familiar...do I know your Mother?". He went on to teach the audience some dance moves in a toungue in cheek parody of iconic stars from James Brown, Mick Jagger to Chris Martin.

Highlights of the evening included an incredible drum solo by Alex Van Halen, a extended guitar solo by the consumate musician Eddie Van Halen, and a rock solid performance by hs son Wolfgang. Another highlight moment came when Diamond Dave grabbed his hamonica and guitar and began to play 'Ice cream Man'. He was soon joined by the rest of the band and they rocked out the entire song.

These guys (excluding Wolfgang) have been rockin since 1972 and they still have energy to burn! They ended the night with a crowd favorite 'Jump', the only thing missing was some of the more zany antics and high jumps most have come to expect from Dave. Van Halen performed great show giving the fans what they came for. Van Halen's next stop is West Palm Beach, Florida. You can see their tour dates and follow them on their official website here.
